Metropolitan Iconographies- Stickerbook is a publication featuring a series of portraits and stories created by several local artists, co-initiated with writer/researcher Merit Zimmerman.

Continuing the legacy of the previous project Metropolitan Iconographies-Saints of Charlois  we placed an open call for artists based in the south suburbs of Rotterdam to choose and portray their own icons. The responses were diverse in style and mediums.

Each artist chooses some icons (saints or heroes) from their respective neighborhood, depicts them in their own iconographic style and shares their story.

The works were transformed into stickers and the stories were presented in a stickerbook format, were viewers are invited to collect the stickers/icons and place them next to the stories. The stickers can be collected in various spots in the city, from cultural institution to local businesses ,like cafes and cultural centres. The viewer is invited to follow a route through the neighborhood ,where our icons and our artists live and work.

In doing so, they revive the chilhood spirit of exploring and collecting and we offer a moment of presence and interaction.
